Magazine Cover Review

       My first impressions on the magazines were the covers. Obviously, because that's the first thing everyone see's. It's how you draw attention. What I noticed was how they directed themselves towards certain audiences. All the different colors and pictures they would use for different ages and genders. For example with, Better Homes and Gardens. They use color fonts in big swirly letters with a picture of a house or food that looks nice. It's very pleasing to the eye but, that's not going to make a middle aged man buy it. The audience it's looking for is likely moms. It's marketing tips to lead a pretty and put together lifestyle. A teenage boy is not going to look at that. Another example of a magazine cover that does a good job at attracting a very specific audience is GQ. Title Sequence Clip Review

         My first impression of the opening scenes to movies was the music choices. Sometimes the music would match well with the scene or not match the image. A good example of a opening scene where the music matches is the Lion King. The opening scene is showing all the animals of the land together and baby Simba indicating the balance of the circle of life. The song playing literally was about the circle of life which matches really well with the overall theme of the opening scene. A good example of music that did not match the scene was Raging Bull. It opened with a guy warming up in a boxing ring before a match but the music was nice slow music. When usually boxing matches are associated with violence and intensity so you would expect upbeat music. Another impression is the way they depict if the movie will be happy or sad.
