Post-Production 2 - Further Editing Film

One of the things mentioned about our editing was that whenever a character talked the background music would momentarily cut off. We messed around with the sound and found a way to blend and minimize it into the background so you could still hear the character clearly but the music did not cut out. We also made the transition from scene to title slide and back to scene more blended because the music changes from suspenseful to peaceful. The movie starts out with the dream, hence the suspenseful music, then once the dream is over we cut to the title slide where then after our character is waking up. Originally it was choppy and obviously changed so our main focus was to try and make that sound better. I would say most of the constructive criticism we heard from our peers was to try and fix the music as best as we could.

Post-Production 1 - Filming More Clips

After the peer review my partner and I received some very constructive pointers to improve the overall quality of our film. The first being that our time was too short so we went out and shot more clips of our main character and even added more to the plot which allowed for the story to make more sense. We only expanded on the waking up part of the scene, not the dream part of it in the alleyway. We filmed an alarm clock which made it easier for the viewer to understand why our character woke up when she did.

Preliminary Layout

“Preliminary Layout” Portfolio Project Title: “Dreamlike Reality”     Settings:   Our film starts off in two different settings. One being a narrow, dark, and empty alleyway where our main protagonist is first seen. The next setting is when the protagonist wakes up, where she is seen in her and her partner’s bed. When she gets up she looks around and we can see a more broad view of the setting which is the couple’s small apartment.     Characters:   Yvie: She is the main protagonist and who the story revolves around and is a trusting person but becomes more skeptical throughout the film. The film follows her journey in discovering her partner’s true identity as a serial killer.   David: He is the main antagonist and Yvie’s longtime boyfriend of a 3 years. He’s extremely smart and lives a secret second life as a serial killer while trying his best to seem normal around Yvie and doing a good job at it.   John Doe...
